Hearing the words ‘we cannot find her heartbeat’ rings in my ears over and over. At that moment our lives were changed forever. Our sweet baby girl, Mia, was due in 5 days and the realization that she would never come home with us was so unbelievable. We had so many hopes and dreams for Mia. It’s hard to know the earth is still spinning when it feels as if our world has completely stopped. The pain and grief is unbearable, wondering why this happened to our precious baby girl. Holding our beautiful daughter for the first and last time was bittersweet. She looked so peaceful and sweet, and for a moment we thought she was just sleeping. She was sleeping, born still. Her heart may no longer beat but we will carry her always in our hearts.
