Okanagan Walk to Remember

It’s almost that time of year when we gather to honour our sweet children. This year we have decided to keep the walk very casual, and there will be no program or speaker.

We would love for you to join us as we walk to remember. We will meet at the cenotaph stairs (City Park) at 1:00pm. We will start by writing our children’s names. (Chalk will be provided.)

Around 1:30pm we will start walking. At the end of the walk, we encourage you to do something in honour of your child/children. (We will not be supplying any balloons or other items this year so bring something that you feel would be a special way to honour your baby.)

Some ideas are:
• offering flowers/flower petals to the lake
• blowing bubbles up to the sky
• ribbon streamers
• paint rocks before the walk and leave them in special spots
• drumming
• If you would like to release a balloon/s, please consider the environmental impact. Please be sure to use 100% biodegradable balloons, and tie with a natural string, such as twine.

We welcome your ideas and suggestions on ways to honour our children.

Afterwards, please feel welcome to join us to chat, reflect, or maybe walk the path again. Please take as much time as you need. We plan to stick around for a bit, and offer our love, ears, and support.

We will provide updates, as needed, as the event draws near.

Thank you, and we look forward to you joining us this year, as we walk to remember our precious children.
