We entered this project into a competition called Your Evolution with the title Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. The competition was hosted by the University of British Columbia (UBC) to allow alumni, faculty and staff to showcase projects they are involved with to change the world. Apart from random prize draws for all participants, a public voting system would determine which project will receive the grand prize of a professional video for their cause.
After only two days of our project being listed on the site, we had collected enough votes to rise to second place. Over the next few days we changed first and second place with our strongest competition, the Learning Buddies Network. A press release on April 24 named us a frontrunner in the competition.
When the competition closed on April 30 at midnight we had collected 360 votes for our project. That in itself was very encouraging. Obviously, people cared about the topic and showed their support. We would like to thank everyone who voted and shared our project! It inspired us to continue and extend our work on this project. Although it was not enough to win the video production, we claimed a solid runner-up position. The video prize went to the Learning Buddies. Congratulations – a well-deserved prize for another fantastic initiative! There are many other excellent projects listed on the site.
