Approximately one in five pregnancies in this country will end in a loss, yet it is a loss that is regularly unrecognized. Our grief is often discounted and our suffering is silent. Our goal is to end the stigma surrounding the subject of pregnancy loss and to offer a space of recognition for bereaved families.
Funds raised will be donated to the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network at Sunnybrook.
October 15 is observed annually in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australian States of Western Australia, New South Wales and in Italy, as Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness day. The day is observed with remembrance ceremonies and candle-lighting vigils, concluding with the Lights of Love International Wave of Light, a worldwide lighting of candles that encompasses and spans the globe at 7:00 p.m. (local time.)
Candles will be available for purchase, by donation at the concert to be lit the following evening for the Wave of Light. All proceeds will be donated to PAIL.
The Wave of Light Concert is held in memory of our daughter, Braylie, who was born and passed on January 9th, 2014.
